Dhusamareb, (SONNA) — Galmudug Vice President, H.E. Ali Dahir Eid, today received officials from the African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (AUSSOM) at the Galmudug State Presidential Palace.
The meeting focused on security matters, the fight against the Khawarij militant group, and strengthening the capacity of AUSSOM forces stationed in Galmudug.
Vice President Ali Dahir Eid commended the efforts of the Somali National Army and Galmudug forces in improving security across the state, noting that the overall security situation in Galmudug is currently stable.
Both the AUSSOM officials and Galmudug leadership agreed to intensify joint operations against the Al-Shabaab militants to further consolidate security gains.
