Mogadishu – On the occasion of July 1st, marking the 65th anniversary of Somalia’s independence and national unity, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, laid a wreath at the Daljirka Dahsoon Monument in Mogadishu to honor the country’s fallen heroes.
The President was accompanied by Major General Asad Abdullahi Osman, the Commander of the Somali Police Force, who presented a ceremonial salute as police units stood in formation during the solemn tribute.
The wreath-laying ceremony at Daljirka Dahsoon, Somalia’s Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, is a traditional act of remembrance that underscores the sacrifices made for the nation’s freedom and unity.
