Sanaag, Somalia – A large wildfire has broken out in the Daallo Mountains of Sanaag region, specifically near the agricultural area known as Gaacidh. The blaze has caused extensive damage to farmland, with local officials reporting that around 200 farms have been affected.
Speaking to the media, the Governor of Sanaag under the Somaliland administration, Ahmed Isdabar, confirmed the scale of the destruction and warned of the fire’s rapid spread.
Local residents are urgently calling for emergency assistance, as the fire continues to advance. Ongoing efforts are underway to contain the blaze, with various community-led and regional response teams working on the ground.
