The Hague, Netherlands – The Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction and Housing of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Dr. Elmi Mahamoud Nur, held a key meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, Ms. Pascalia Grotenhuis, along with senior Dutch officials.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation in reconstruction and infrastructure development—particularly in the construction of ports, airports, and key road networks connecting Somalia with neighboring countries. Discussions also covered land management and urban development.
Both sides agreed on the importance of deepening collaboration with emphasis on rule of law, peacebuilding, infrastructure development, and supporting Somalia’s electoral process.
This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance bilateral relations, with follow-up engagements planned to align Somalia’s national infrastructure agenda with the Netherlands’ five-year development cooperation framework.
