Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Governor of the Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, Dr. Hassan Mohamed Hussein (Muungaab), has officially launched the reconstruction of Zoobe Road, a vital artery for movement across the capital that was severely damaged by recent heavy rains.

Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Muungaab pledged that the long-deteriorated Shaqaalaha Road, along with several other key roads throughout Mogadishu, would soon undergo rehabilitation. He emphasized that public taxes would be reinvested into essential infrastructure and services.

“We are committed to ensuring that the taxes collected from the public are returned in the form of improved services — including access to free education, enhanced healthcare services, and the reconstruction of critical economic infrastructure,” Mayor Muungaab stated.

The event was attended by Deputy Governors of the Banadir Regional Administration, the District Commissioner of Hodan, business leaders, traditional elders, senior officials, and various segments of the community.
