Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Mogadishu Stadium is set to host a highly anticipated football match today featuring a face-off between teams representing Somali national players and foreign-based players.
The team donning the Somali kit will include a selection of local athletes and national sports legends, while the opposing side will feature foreign players currently active in Somalia and distinguished international guests. Among the notable participants are African football icons Jay-Jay Okocha, Samuel Eto’o, and Emmanuel Adebayor.
The guest team will be led by Somalia’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Mohamed Abdulkadir Ali, in accordance with protocol, as the official host of the visiting delegation.
The Ministry of Sports has urged fans interested in attending the event to arrive early to facilitate smooth security checks. Spectators have also been encouraged to maintain calm and discipline, as the event is expected to send a strong international message about Somalia’s progress in sports and national security.
