Mogadishu, Somalia – The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, Mr. Ahmed Ma’allin Fiqi, recently conducted a working visit to the TURKSOM Military Training School, accompanied by other government officials.
Upon arrival at the school’s headquarters, Minister Fiqi and his delegation received a warm welcome from Turkish officials and the Somali students currently undergoing military training at the facility.
During the visit, Minister Fiqi held a meeting attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Somalia, Mr. Alper Aktaş. Discussions during the meeting focused on ways to further strengthen the existing defense cooperation between Somalia and Turkey.
The Minister and the Ambassador also discussed the crucial role that the TURKSOM Military Training School plays in building a well-trained and well-equipped Somali National Army, highlighting its significance in the ongoing efforts to enhance Somalia’s national security capabilities. Minister Fiqi commended the effective work being done at the school and acknowledged its importance in the development of Somalia’s armed forces.
