Mogadishu, Somalia – Marking the celebration of Somali Youth Day on May 15th, His Excellency President Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud laid the foundation stone for the construction of a new building that will serve as the headquarters for the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The President was joined at the ceremony by several high-ranking officials, including the Governor of Banadir Region and Mayor of Mogadishu, His Excellency Mohamed Ahmed Amir, and the Minister of Youth and Sports, His Excellency Mohamed Abdulqadir Ali.
This significant event underscores the government’s commitment to investing in the youth and sports sector in Somalia. By laying the foundation stone on Somali Youth Day, President Hassan Sheikh emphasized the importance of providing dedicated infrastructure to support the development and empowerment of young people across the nation through sports and other youth-related initiatives.
The new Ministry building is expected to provide a central hub for the Ministry’s operations, facilitating better coordination and implementation of programs aimed at fostering youth engagement, promoting sports development, and contributing to the overall progress of Somalia.
