Baghdad, Iraq – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Abdisalan Abdi Ali, recently visited the Somali Embassy in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, accompanied by a delegation.
The visit shows the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the crucial work undertaken by the Somali Embassy in serving the Somali people residing in Iraq. Upon arrival, Minister Abdisalan and his delegation received a warm welcome from the Chargé d’Affaires, Mr. Abdifatah Sheikh Ahmed. Mr. Ahmed provided a comprehensive briefing on the embassy’s current operations and the range of services it offers.
This visit precedes Minister Abdisalan’s participation in the upcoming Arab League Ministerial Conference scheduled to take place in Baghdad. The Ministerial Conference is a preparatory meeting designed to pave the way for the high-level Arab Summit, which the Republic of Iraq is set to host starting on May 17th.
Minister Abdisalan’s presence in Baghdad highlights Somalia’s active engagement within the Arab League and its commitment to participating in key regional discussions and initiatives. His visit to the embassy serves as a reaffirmation of the importance Somalia places on its diplomatic missions and the well-being of its citizens abroad.
