Baku, (SONNA) – The Minister of Agriculture and Irrigation of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Mohamed Abdi Hayir (Maareeye), led a delegation to the official opening of Caspian Agro 2025, the largest agricultural exhibition in Eastern Europe and the Caucasus region, held in Baku, Azerbaijan.
The international expo brought together over 450 agricultural companies, including Somali agribusinesses whose participation was facilitated by the Ministry. Somali firms engaged in key business-to-business meetings with global companies, focusing on agricultural equipment and fertilizer solutions.
Minister Maareeye also took part in a ministerial roundtable discussing outcomes from the COP29 Climate Change Conference, previously hosted in Baku, underscoring Somalia’s commitment to climate-resilient agriculture and international cooperation in sustainable development.
