Nairobi, (SONNA) – The Minister of Public Works, Reconstruction, and Housing of the Federal Government of Somalia, Dr. Elmi Mohamud Nur officially inaugurated the Steering Committee Meeting of the Somali Horn of Africa Infrastructure Integration Project (SHIIP) in Nairobi.
The meeting brought together ministers from federal member states’ public works and reconstruction departments, officials from the Federal Ministry of Public Works, the project manager, and SHIIP team members.
Discussions during the three-day meeting will focus on the project’s achievements over the past year, the strategic plan for the new year, and accelerating key project components, including studies and designs for roads under the Somali Horn of Africa Infrastructure Integration Project.
The SHIIP Steering Committee aims to drive forward regional infrastructure integration to enhance economic connectivity across the Horn of Africa.
