Kampala, (SONNA) – The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has arrived in Kampala, Uganda, to participate in the high-level summit of the Comprehensive Africa Agriculture Development Programme (CAADP).
The summit, which follows days of deliberations among African Ministers of Agriculture, focuses on implementing strategies and recommendations to advance agricultural productivity, boost economic growth, and ensure food security across the continent.
In his keynote address, President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud underscored Somalia’s commitment to enhancing agricultural production and leveraging the country’s natural resources to achieve sustainable development.
During the summit, the President and his delegation held bilateral meetings with leaders from participating nations, aimed at strengthening Somalia’s diplomatic role in Africa and fostering collaboration on shared goals.
The CAADP summit represents a critical platform for African leaders to coordinate efforts to address pressing agricultural challenges and unlock the full potential of the sector for the benefit of the continent.
