Mogadishu, Somalia (SONNA) – In a significant stride towards economic development, Deputy Prime Minister Saleh Ahmed Jama officially launched the Bulsho Savings and Credit Cooperative Organization (SACCO) in Mogadishu. The initiative aims to bolster small businesses and enhance financial and social inclusion for economically active members of the Somali population with low incomes.

The launch event, attended by professionals from various small business sectors, focused on the critical role these enterprises play in providing essential services to the community.

In his speech, Deputy Prime Minister Jama expressed strong support for the initiative, recognizing the potential of small businesses to drive national development and inspire the populace. “The establishment of Bulsho (SACCO) represents a pivotal step in motivating our people and fostering national growth,” he stated.

Deputy Prime Minister Jama also extended his congratulations to former office holders who have ventured into small business, emphasizing the importance of developing local enterprises that can replace costly imported goods. “We must move towards creating small businesses that not only support our economy but also reduce our reliance on expensive imports,” he added.

The Bulsho (SACCO) initiative shows Somalia’s commitment to empowering its citizens through economic inclusivity and sustainable development. As the organization begins its operations, it promises to be a transformative force in Somalia’s economic landscape.
