Mogadishu(SONNA)-The Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Hon. Isaak Mohamud Mursal , warmly received the Special Envoy of China to the Horn of Africa, H.E. Ambassador Xue Bing, during his official visit to Somalia.
The Deputy Minister commended the government of China for its continued efforts in strengthening the partnership between Somalia and China, fostering peace in the Horn of Africa, and sustaining a long-standing relationship built on mutual respect and cooperation.
Somalia reaffirmed its full support for the “One China” principle and expressed appreciation for China’s unwavering commitment to Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
H.E. Ambassador Xue Bing conveyed his gratitude for the warm reception and highlighted that this visit marks his third trip to Somalia. He reiterated his dedication to enhancing bilateral ties, advancing agreements made between the leaders of Somalia and China during the China-Somalia Cooperation Summit, and collaborating on key areas such as security in Somalia and the wider Horn of Africa region.
The welcoming reception was attended by key officials, including the Chinese Ambassador to Somalia, H.E. Wang Yu; the Director of the Department of Asia and Australia, Mr. Said Jama Mire; and the Director of the Department of National Protocol, Mr. Hussein Sheikh Abdisalam, who all underscored the importance of the Somalia-China partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic ties.
