Mogadishu, Somalia – Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi, Commander of the Somali Police Force, convened an urgent meeting with commanders of the police stations and units across the Banadir region. The meeting, attended by key security personnel, focused on the current security situation in Mogadishu and strategies for improvement.

During the meeting, Commander Asad emphasized the importance of upholding the rights of citizens and ensuring the humane treatment of prisoners. He urged the officers to distinguish themselves from other forces through exemplary conduct and community-oriented policing. “Our mission is to protect and serve the community with integrity and respect. By doing so, we can earn the trust and cooperation of the public,” said Commander Asad.

The discussions also highlighted the necessity of strengthening security measures in Mogadishu to address ongoing challenges and ensure the safety of residents. Commander Asad encouraged the police officers to engage positively with the community, fostering a sense of partnership and mutual respect.

Banadir Region Teacher Mahdi, who participated in the meeting, supported the Commander’s call for enhanced security and the protection of citizens’ rights. The collaborative efforts between the police force and the community are seen as vital in creating a safer environment in Mogadishu.

This meeting marks a significant step in the Somali Police Force’s commitment to improving security and building a strong rapport with the community. The emphasis on ethical conduct, respect for human rights, and community engagement reflects a comprehensive approach to policing that prioritizes the well-being of all citizens.

As the Somali Police Force continues to navigate the complex security landscape, the leadership of Brigadier General Asad Osman Abdullahi and the dedication of the police officers will play a crucial role in maintaining peace and stability in Mogadishu.
