MOGADISHU, June 3, 2026 (SONNA) – The Banadir Regional Administration and the Mogadishu Municipality have officially granted permission to opposition political forces to hold their scheduled demonstrations tomorrow, Thursday, in the capital city. However, the approval is strictly conditional upon adhering to designated locations and established legal and security guidelines to ensure public safety and stability.
In an official statement read by the spokesperson for the Banadir Regional Administration and Mogadishu Municipality, Mr. Salah Hassan Omar, the administration announced that it has designated specific sports stadiums across the capital as the official gathering and launching points for the protesters.
The permitted locations are restricted to the following venues:

Banadir Stadium in the Abdiaziz district.

Mogadishu Football Stadium in the Warta Nabadda district.

Jaamacadaha in the Hodan district.
The spokesperson emphasized a strict ban on carrying weapons of any kind during the rallies. He further stressed that any actions capable of inciting unrest or disrupting public order are entirely prohibited, underlining the absolute necessity of maintaining the peaceful nature of the demonstrations.
