The report released report in the true multilateralism was inaugurated by the Secretary of President Xi Jinping in Beijing. The report discusses the conceptual development, core essence and China’s practice and international conference on practicing true multilateralism and improving global governance system.

The report produces several recommendations to practice the true multilateralism and fight against the pseudo-multilateralism and provides ways to come together to fulfil shared future. The report also reviews the process of gradually enriching and improving the concept of true multilateralism and the core meaning of this idea.

The release of the True Multilateralism Report: Conceptual Development, Core Essence and China’s Practice and International Conference on the Practicing True Multilateralism and Improving Global Governance System, brought together Ministers from the People’s Republic of China, Ambassadors, Overseas Scholars, journalists and other officials.

Against the turbulent and intertwined international situation, true multilateralism is an inevitable choice for all humankind to address global challenges and promote global governance. It has solidified a global consensus on the pursuit of peace and development, aligns with the trends of historical progress, and carries profound significance for the world. It also presents multilateralism in its rightful context, sharply distinguishing it from unilateralism and all varieties of pseudo-multilateralism. Whether to address current global challenges

The report expounds the desire and call for the current era to practice true multilateralism, pointing out that this concept responds to the urgent need to meet global challenges, the profound adjustment of the international balance of power and profoundly answers the key question of what multilateralism is and what kind of multilateralism the world needs.

The report makes a deep analysis of the nature, characteristics and harm of pseudo-multilateralism, pointing out that pseudo-multilateralism is unilateral in the name of “multilateral” and sets dual and even multiple

standards in abiding by the basic norms governing international relations, thus damaging the authority of the UN, creating opposition and divisions, and harming the international development environment.

To practice true multilateralism, the international community should uphold the principles of fairness, justice, openness and inclusiveness, follow the concept of extensive consultation, joint contribution and shared benefits, keep pace with the profoundly adjusted world landscape and global governance, and firmly uphold the purposes and principles of the UN Charter

The global governance system is now shifting and the world currently needs to come together more than ever and through the ‘True Multilateralism’ strongly supporting the UN and uphold its charter,” is part of the shared future and the common issues dictate in the report.
