Mogadishu, SONNA – The Minister of Environment and Climate Change of the Federal Government of Somalia, Hon. Ambassador Khadija Mohamed Al-makhzoumi, has signed a key Funding Agreement for the Agricultural Climate Change Resilience Project. This initiative, known as ‘Climatic Resilience in Somalia,’ has been approved by the Green Climate Fund (GCC).
The agreement marks a critical milestone in the Somali government’s efforts to address the severe impacts of climate change, food shortages, and poverty that have plagued the nation. Minister Khadija expressed her gratitude to all those who contributed to reaching this pivotal moment.
“This project represents the beginning of our sustained efforts to find lasting solutions to the harsh conditions brought about by climate change,” stated Minister Khadija.
