Dhusamareb, Galgudud(SONNA)-The Somali Financial Reporting Center (FRC) has today conducted an awareness and training program in Dhusamareb, the administrative capital for the Galmudug State in central Somalia.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to raise awareness and provide training across the federal member states of Somalia.
The FRC aims to strengthen the capacity of local governments and enhance collaboration between the central government and federal member states in combating money laundering, financing of terrorism, and other financial crimes.

The program was officially opened by Abdurizack Mohamud Jama, the State Minister of Finance of Galmudug, who expressed his appreciation for the FRC’s efforts.
The minister emphasized the importance of this training, encouraging Galmudug representatives to take full advantage of the opportunity. He highlighted that the knowledge gained would have a positive impact on both the government and the community.

These six days program focused on equipping participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to identify and report suspicious financial activities. It also emphasized the importance of a unified approach in tackling financial crimes, fostering a culture of transparency and accountability.

By enhancing the capabilities of local authorities, the FRC hopes to create a more robust and resilient financial system in Somalia, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic stability and security.

This initiative underscores the FRC’s commitment to building a safer and more secure financial environment for all Somalis.
