Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Salah Ahmed Jama brings the National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting to an official close.
International partners and United Nations representatives reiterated their commitment to the stabilisation and early recovery priorities of the Government of Somalia.
This morning in Mogadishu, the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation is hosting federal and state leaders, United Nation’s representatives, international partners, and diplomatic missions for the second day of the National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting.
Federal Ministers of Justice, Security and Health, as well as the Ministers of Interior of the Federal Member States, are at the National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting.
The Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation H.E Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh started his opening remarks by commending the work of the brave Somali Security Forces.
Adding that the government and people of Somalia will remember the sacrifices they made.
“It is important to note that liberation operations are spreading across Jubaland. I visited the frontlines of this state and saw first-hand the need for quick stabilisation and recovery efforts,” the Minister added.
“Our liberation achievements depend on our ability to deliver security, justice, health, education, and other basic necessities to the newly recovered areas,” H.E. Hassan Moallim, Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs said.
“The government of Somalia is utilizing an integrated system of local governance, justice delivery and rule of law to deliver effective stabilisation and recovery to newly liberated areas,” Hon. Omar Hashi, Special Envoy for Stabilisation and Civilian Protection said.
The Commissioner of the Somali Disaster Management Agency, Mohamud Moallim, stated that the government of Somalia has delivered aid initiatives to over 200,000 individuals in newly liberated areas.
Speaking on behalf of the Federal Member states, the Minister of Interior of Galmudug State H.E Abdi Mohamed Jama (Abdi Waayeel) gave updates on the liberation and subsequent stabilisation efforts taking place in Galmudug, Jubaland, Hirshabelle and Southwest State.
