Mogadishu (SONNA): National Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) is nearing completion of a state-of-the-art emergency assistance center in Mogadishu. Commissioner Mohamud Macalin Abdulle recently inspected the construction site, emphasizing the critical role this center will play in saving lives during emergencies.
The purpose of this new center is clear: to provide immediate aid to injured individuals who require urgent attention. Located within the main hospital in Madina, the center’s strategic placement ensures swift access to medical facilities. SoDMA has funded the project through contributions from the Somali community, reflecting a collaborative effort to enhance disaster response capabilities.
Construction is now in its final stages, and the center is poised to become operational soon. SoDMA and Madina Hospital management are working closely to ensure seamless coordination during emergencies. Commissioner Abdulle acknowledged the dedicated service of Dr. Mohamed Abdirahman and the hospital staff, presenting them with a certificate of honor.
As the project nears completion, the people of Mogadishu can look forward to a more resilient and efficient emergency assistance system. Lives will be saved, critical care will be provided, and the community will benefit from this vital addition to disaster management.
