Mahas(SONNA)-Abdi Elmi, a 54-year-old Mawisley man is still ready to pursue fight and revenge from Al-Shabaab terrorists after amputating his leg, arm in Beledweyne, the capital of Hiiraan region a decade ago. He was among local forces, Macawisley who began the uprising offensive war against Al-Shabaab in Mataban and took part several fronts including Ceel-hareri, Ceel-Qoxle and Yasoman in the same region.
In a remarkable display of resilience and unwavering patriotism, a 54-year-old man from the Mawisley army who had his leg and arm amputated by Al-Shabaab terrorists, has emerged as a symbol of courage on the frontlines of the war in Hiiraan region.
“ I am a Macawisley fighter, not SNA soldier but I have only two sons who are SNA soldiers fighting against Al-Shabaab, they are serving for the country”, Elmi said while carrying a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG)
Abdi Cilmi, a dedicated member of the Macawiisley army stationed in the region of Hiiraan, bore the horrifying scars inflicted upon him by the terrorists in the city of Beledweyne. Despite his life-altering injuries, he stands determined in the fight against the notorious terrorist group, Al-Shabaab.
In his interview, Abdi Cilmi stated, “I am ready to fight for my country, my people, and my religion to prevent Al-Shabaab, the very group that cut off my arm and leg. I call for all Somali citizens who share our Islamic faith that it is our duty to unite and combat against these terrorists.”
Abdi’s story serves as a grim testament to the brutality of Al-Shabaab terrorists, who have repeatedly violated fundamental human rights. The nation hopes that, in the face of such resilience and determination, these terrorists will soon be eradicated from the country, ensuring a safer and brighter future for Somalia.
The uprising by local forces, Macawisley in Hiiraan against Al-Shabaab was most successful one and still remains vivid example in several fronts according to military strategists and experts. These forces liberated major parts specially in the eastern of the region.
