The UK government has announced that the Chevening Scholarships to study in the UK are open for applications between 12 September and 7 November. The scholarships are aimed at developing future leaders and influencers from around the world, and offer full financial support for one year of master’s degree at any UK university.

The British Ambassador to Somalia, Mike Nithavrianakis, said: ‘’The Scholarship demonstrates the UK’s commitment to investing in the leaders of the future. This is a great opportunity and I want to encourage as many Somalis as possible to compete for this life changing experience.’’

He added that since 2016, more than 60 Somali scholars have benefitted from the Chevening Scholarship programme, many of whom are now working at senior levels in government, the private sector and international organizations.

Potential scholars can apply at www.chevening.org/apply.
