Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA) – The Prime Minister of Somalia, Hamza Abdi Barre, unveiled the Conference on the Implementation of the Federalization of Justice and Morals.
The conference promotes the rule of law and aims to provide the Somali people with a fair, inclusive, reliable and efficient judiciary.
This initiative was agreed upon at the 4th National Consultative Council meeting and seeks to implement the agreement and finalize the Interim Constitution.
Prime Minister Barre stated that several measures have been taken to establish an independent judiciary in the country. These include court reforms, hiring experienced judges and abolishing the illegal fees that were taken from citizens at the Criminal Investigation Department.
Barre emphasized the importance of drafting the constitution and expressed the Danish Government’s commitment to its completion. Additionally, steps have been taken to reach a political agreement.
