Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali police Force have conducted targeted operations in various parts of Mogadishu to tackle the rising insecurity in the capital. The operations were carried out by security officers in the eastern, central, and western areas of the city, with the aim of deterring and neutralizing criminal elements involved in various crimes, including terrorism, robbery, and kidnapping.

Led by Banadir Police Commissioner, Maalin Mahdi, the operation resulted in the arrest of several individuals suspected to be part of a terrorist cell. The senior police officers rounded up several suspects, including armed gunmen who had been terrorizing citizens in the capital. The swift action of the officers was praised by the police department for preventing further harm to the public.

The arrested suspects have been taken into custody and will face charges in court. The police department has called on citizens to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The targeted operations serve as a reminder of the ongoing threat of insecurity and the importance of continued efforts to combat it.

Deputy Banadir Police Commissioner, Saed Baryare, emphasized the need for public participation in maintaining the security of the city and the country as a whole. Speaking to the national media, he urged the public to work with the police force to improve the security situation and make Mogadishu a safer place.
