Somali Natoinal Army kills more than 50 Al-Shabaab terrorists

MOGADISHU, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army with the help of the local forces and international partners killed in a planned operation more than 50 Al-Shabaab terrorists in Af’ad area in Hiiraan region.

The operations that took place in Hirshabelle lasted for more than 12 hours and ended in the defeat of the Al-Shabaab militia, and this indicates that in the last 3 days more than 300 of the militants in Hirshabelle, Galmudug and Jubbaland including leaders:

1. Yusuf Ali Sheikh, leader of Fidow area killed at Iji.

2. Salat Mohamud Siad, who was known as Amin Owbanle, the leader of who was the tax collector (Sakawad) in the Middle Shabelle region, was killed in Iji.

3. Abdihakin Nur Guleed Dabaashe, leader of a group called Jamhadda, was killed in Iji.

4. Mohamed Indhofiq, the leader of the militia of Af’ad area was killed in Afad.

The army also apprehended wounded militia and non-wounded including the terrorist’s chief of medical and explosives Salman Dahir in Mudug region.

The National Army also seized the land where the rebels were hiding, weapons and other equipment used by the rebels.
