Military court sentences Captain Sharif Mohamed to death for murders

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Military Court of the First Degree of Somalia has sentenced captain Sharif Mohamed Barkhadle to death, he used to bring explosive cars into the city, and was reported placing several cars in business areas such as Village Hotel and Restaurant on the 14th of January 2019, Bar Italia near Hamar-Weyne Mall on February 4th 2019, Cagaweyne Ex Bilsan Restaurant on March 28th 2019, Lido Beach near on Aargada May 27th 2019 and more.

As many as 27 people from the community were killed in the explosions that the government recorded, and many more were injured.

Other charges include the sale of two 60-round mortars and 40 rounds of ammunition to the terrorists.

He was followed through technological networks after the attack on the Aden Ade Airport on March 23, 2022, but was not captured until November 19th, 2022 when the intelligence came into the hands of the National Security and Intelligence Agency.

After going through the procedures of the case, the military court held its last session on January 7, 2023.

”The military court sentenced Sharif Mohamed Barkhadle Ayaanlr to death for the murders of the people who lost their lives due to the car explosions today”, Colonel Hassan Ali Nur Shuute; Chairman of the First Degree military court told SONNA.

The 53-years-old born in Mudug started his career from the government of Abdikasim Salad Hassan, and worked his way up to reach captain in the military force, and he misused the power by joining the terrorists and causing pain to the Somali people as the Director of Public Relations of the Armed Forces Judiciary Court, Mr. Abdulkadir Isse reported.
