Mogadishu — The Somali Disaster Management Agency (SoDMA) today received the second shipment of aid generously donated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Government. The event, held at Aden Ade Airport, marked a significant step in supporting the Somali people during challenging times.

The shipment comprises various categories of essential food items, carefully selected to address immediate needs. From staple grains to nutritional supplies, the UAE’s contribution aims to alleviate hunger and enhance food security for vulnerable populations.

The aid was transported by a UAE Government cargo plane, symbolizing the strong bilateral ties between the two nations. The efficient logistics ensured the timely arrival of critical supplies, reinforcing the UAE’s commitment to humanitarian assistance.

Assistant Chairman of the Disaster Management Agency, Mr. Abdirahman Wahid, personally received the donation from UAE Embassy officials in Mogadishu. He expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the Somali people, recognizing the UAE as a steadfast ally in times of need.

“The United Arab Emirates government,” stated Mr. Wahid, “has consistently extended a helping hand to Somalia. Their fraternal support has made a tangible difference in the lives of our citizens.”

As the delivery of aid continues in the coming days, the SoDMA remains dedicated to efficient distribution and equitable access. The UAE’s unwavering commitment serves as a beacon of hope for a brighter future in Somalia.
