Mogadishu, Somalia – November 21, 2024 – Mr. Dahir Mohamud Geelle, Special Adviser to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, delivered an official message to the President of Algeria, Abdelmadjid Tebboune.
The special adviser, who received an official invitation from President Tebboune, engaged in discussions aimed at strengthening the historic ties between Somalia and Algeria. The two leaders also addressed pressing regional issues and explored avenues for enhanced cooperation to resolve these challenges.
Furthermore, the dialogue included a focus on the membership of the non-permanent committee of the United Nations Security Council, in which both Somalia and Algeria are members. This aspect of the conversation highlighted the mutual commitment to collaborative efforts in tackling regional and international concerns.
Mr. Geelle’s visit and the subsequent high-level discussions with President Tebboune reflect a shared dedication to fostering stronger bilateral relations and working together towards common goals of peace, stability, and development.
