Speaker Madobe Lauds Northern Regions’ Role in Somali Unity on 65th Anniversary

Mogadishu, Somalia, SONNA– His Excellency Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur (Madobe), Speaker of the House of the People of the Federal Republic of Somalia, played a prominent role last night in the commemoration of the 65th anniversary of the independence of the Northern Regions of Somalia from British colonial rule. The significant event, held in Mogadishu, highlighted the enduring historical importance of this milestone for the Somali nation.

In a comprehensive speech delivered during the ceremony, Speaker Madobe underscored the profound significance of June 26th for all Somali people. He articulated that this day holds immense importance in the hearts of Somalis, symbolizing a pivotal moment in the nation’s journey towards self-determination.

The Speaker extended effusive praise to the people of the northern regions for their crucial contributions to the unity and solidarity of the Somali people. He specifically honored the heroes from these regions whose courageous efforts led directly to the achievement of independence and the subsequent unification of the Somali territories.

Concluding his address, Speaker Sheikh Aden Madobe issued a fervent call for all Somali people to unite in support of the Somali state. He urged citizens to reject any elements or ideologies that seek to impede the progress and development of the Somali state, reinforcing the message of national cohesion and collective advancement. The celebration served as a powerful reminder of shared history and the ongoing need for national solidarity.
