Baidoa, (SONNA) – The President of Somalia’s Southwest State, H.E. Abdiaziz Hassan Mohamed (Laftagareen) signed the Humanitarian Aid Protection Bill, drafted by the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management of Southwest State.
The bill aims to strengthen cooperation in safeguarding humanitarian aid, ensuring accountability, and improving the efficiency of aid delivery to intended beneficiaries. It introduces a new framework for aid management, emphasizing transparency and effective distribution mechanisms.
The signing ceremony was attended by several ministers from the Southwest State government, including the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, as well as senior officials from the United Nations, international organizations, and local humanitarian agencies. Among the attendees was the Deputy Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Somalia.
