Mogadishu (SONNA) – The Second National Identification Authority (NIRA) Conference continued today for its second day at the Afisyooni Tent in Mogadishu, bringing together government institutions, federal member states, private-sector leaders, and international partners.
The conference showcased the significant progress NIRA has achieved over the past two years, particularly in strengthening and expanding Somalia’s National ID system. Participants presented key research findings, held policy discussions, and reviewed innovations aimed at improving identification services and modernizing the country’s citizen data-management framework.
The high-level gathering is set to conclude later today with an official closing ceremony to be presided over by the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
