Gaza, (SONNA): The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, has expressed his strong support for the recent Gaza ceasefire agreement. The President lauded the dedicated efforts of Qatar, Egypt, and the United States in brokering this crucial agreement.
Dr. Mohamud emphasized the need for sustained international and regional cooperation to reinforce the ceasefire and expedite the delivery of urgent humanitarian assistance to the people of Gaza. He highlighted the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza and called for immediate action to alleviate the suffering of its residents.
The President reiterated Somalia’s commitment to peace and justice, advocating for a just and lasting solution to establish an independent Palestinian state in accordance with the principle of two states. He urged the global community to seize this opportunity to promote peace and stability in the region.
