Mogadishu, Somalia – The Council of Ministers of the Federal Republic of Somalia, during its weekly meeting, has given its approval to two key pieces of legislation: the Private Employment Agencies Regulatory Framework and the Mining Bill. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Salah Ahmed Jama, who is also the Acting Prime Minister, focused on the potential impact of these new laws. The Private Employment Agencies Regulatory Framework is designed to create a structured environment for private employment agencies, ensuring the protection of workers’ rights and encouraging the creation of more job opportunities, particularly for young Somalis. Furthermore, the approval of the Mining Bill is set to establish a clear and comprehensive legal framework for the exploration, extraction, and export of Somalia’s natural mineral resources.
