Busan, (SONNA) – The Director-General of the Ministry of Planning, Investment and Economic Development, Mr. Mohamed Shire, represented Somalia at the 2025 Busan Global Partnership Forum.
Mr. Shire participated in a high-level session on Development Effectiveness, held at a time of global decline in Overseas Development Assistance (ODA). He outlined Somalia’s National Transformation Plan (NTP 2025–2029) and Vision 2060 as the country’s guiding frameworks for sustainable development.
The Director-General shared examples of how the Somali Aid Architecture enhances coordination among government institutions, international partners, and communities to deliver tangible results. He stressed the importance of country-led, evidence-based, and effective partnerships to achieve sustainable progress despite shrinking aid flows.
Mr. Shire further emphasized the need for strong alignment between global partnerships and Somalia’s long-term priorities to ensure effective cooperation and lasting impact.
