New York, SONNA – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, met today with his Serbian counterpart, H.E. Marko Đurić, on the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The two ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the Diplomatic Studies Institute of Somalia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the Diplomatic Academy of Serbia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The agreement aims to strengthen cooperation in diplomatic training and capacity building.
Somalia and Serbia already maintain a defense cooperation framework, under which the Government of Serbia provides training to Somali armed forces.
