Arusha, (SONNA) – The Secretary General of the East African Economic Cooperation Organization, Veronica Mueni Nduva, praised Somalia’s active role in the BBA, highlighting the efforts of the Office of the Auditor General of the Federal Republic of Somalia during the financial audit of government institutions.
The recognition came after Somalia’s Auditor General, Ahmed Issa Gutale, officially participated in the 47th Council of Ministers Meeting of the East African Economic Cooperation Organization, held on April 25, 2025, in Arusha, Tanzania.
At the meeting, the EAC Audit Committee presented its financial audit report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, with special praise given to the support provided by Somalia’s Office of the Auditor General.
The Office of the Auditor General continues to strengthen cooperation with regional and international organizations to boost financial transparency and accountability and to solidify Somalia’s role in the region.
