Tianjin, (SONNA) – The 5th International Engineering and Construction Supply Chain Expo and the 9th International Market Report Conference for Foreign Contracted Projects cum Belt and Road Project Matching and Exchange Conference officially opened today in Tianjin.
The high-level events, jointly organized by China’s Ministry of Commerce, brought together senior officials, ambassadors, and business representatives from across the globe.
Somalia was represented by the Director General of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mr. Ibrahim Ahmed Osman, who delivered a video address at the opening session. In his remarks, Mr. Ibrahim highlighted the historic cooperation between Somalia and China, the country’s economic growth and investment opportunities, and Somalia’s role in regional development and the Belt and Road Initiative.
He also underlined progress in trade, industry, and support for small and medium-sized enterprises in Somalia.
The expo and its parallel sessions provided a platform for government agencies, private companies, and international investors to strengthen business relations. Somalia actively engaged in discussions and networking opportunities aimed at expanding partnerships and exploring new avenues for cooperation.
