Somalia, Oman discuss developments of Ports in the country

Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Ports and Marine Transport of Somalia, H.E Mohmud Aden Geesood, received a delegation led by the Minister of Transport, Ports, and Technology of Oman, Said Bin Hamoud. The meeting focused on the development of several ports, including Hobyo Port, with the government of Oman expressing its strong interest in investing in the port’s construction.

The gathering was attended by members of the Somali Parliament, the committee responsible for the Hobyo Port development, several Somali business leaders, and the Omani Ambassador to Somalia, along with senior officials from Omani organizations keen on investing in the Hobyo port project.

Both the Omani Minister of Transport & Ports and his Deputy jointly pledged that the Omani government would fully finance the construction of Hobyo Port and other Somali ports in need of development and investment. These projects are expected to contribute significantly to the economic growth and infrastructure development in the region.
