Muscat, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalan Abdi Ali held a high-level meeting in Muscat with H.E. Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al-Murshidi, Chairman of the Oman Investment Authority, to advance strategic investment cooperation between the two countries.

The discussions focused on unlocking Omani investment in Somalia across high-potential sectors, including livestock, fisheries and the blue economy, aviation, and other strategic industries, while emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive environment for public–private partnerships and long-term capital flows.

Both sides explored practical pathways to move toward structured investment engagement, reflecting growing international confidence in Somalia’s economic trajectory and its strategic position connecting Africa and the Gulf. The meeting underscores Somalia’s continued push to position economic diplomacy as a driver of national growth and to translate international partnerships into tangible investment outcomes.
