Paris(SONNA)-In a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations, Somalia’s Minister of Education, Farah Sheikh Abdulkadir, engaged in fruitful discussions with the French Secretary of State, Ms. Chrysoula Zacharopoulou, in Paris. This meeting marked a pivotal moment for both nations, signifying their commitment to deepening ties and collaborating on vital development sectors.

The dialogue centered on ways to enhance the existing partnership between Somalia and France, with a keen focus on boosting support in crucial development areas. Education, being a foundational pillar for Somalia’s growth, was at the forefront of the discussions. Minister Abdulkadir outlined Somalia’s educational priorities and explored avenues for French support in strengthening the country’s education system.

Ms. Zacharopoulou, underscoring France’s commitment to international solidarity, responded with affirmations of support, highlighting the mutual benefits of a reinforced partnership. She stressed the importance of education as a tool for empowerment and sustainable development and acknowledged the potential of Somalia’s youth as a driving force for change and progress within the country.

The talks concluded with a sense of optimism and mutual appreciation. Minister Abdulkadir expressed gratitude for the warm reception and the growing partnership between the two countries, while Ms. Zacharopoulou reaffirmed France’s readiness to stand with Somalia in its developmental journey.

This meeting signals a promising future for France-Somalia relations, with both parties eager to translate their discussions into action. The commitment to enhance cooperation in education and other key development sectors is not just a diplomatic success but a beacon of hope for tangible improvements in the lives of many Somalis.
