Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Federal Government of Somalia has successfully evacuated 14 citizens from Algeria as part of its continued efforts to protect its people from the risks associated with irregular migration and human trafficking.
The group, which included 11 men and 3 women, arrived today safely at Aden Abdulle International Airport in Mogadishu. They were welcomed by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Mr. Hamza Adan Haadoow, along with the Director of the Africa Department of the Ministry, Mr. Abdulkadir Burgal, and other senior officials.
This operation is part of a broader national strategy to combat illegal migration and dismantle the smuggling networks that exploit vulnerable citizens. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Somali nationals abroad and facilitating their safe and dignified return.
The Federal Government of Somalia is working closely with international partners to raise awareness about the dangers of irregular migration and to create better economic and educational opportunities at home.
