Mogadishu, (SONNA) — The Minister of Ports and Maritime Transport of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur, announced the endorsement of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye and the African Coastal Countries responsible for transport and infrastructure.
The agreement focuses on enhancing cooperation to strengthen transport connectivity across the region. The Minister highlighted Somalia’s key role in supporting the initiative, noting that the collaboration will promote greater connectivity, economic development, and mutual cooperation among participating nations.
He emphasized Somalia’s commitment to developing its ports, which are essential for income generation and trade. The endorsement aligns with the priorities discussed at the Global Transport Connectivity Forum held recently in Istanbul, underscoring Somalia’s active role in shaping a more connected and prosperous future.
