Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, on Sunday evening held talks in Jeddah with his Egyptian counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Egyptian Expatriates, H.E. Dr. Badr Abdelatty, on the sidelines of the Extraordinary Session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
During the meeting, the two ministers held in-depth discussions on Israel’s alleged illegal recognition of the so-called “Somaliland” in northwestern Somalia, firmly rejecting any move that undermines the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of the Federal Republic of Somalia.
They also underscored the importance of upholding international law and reiterated their support for all efforts aimed at preserving Somalia’s national unity and stability.
