Jeddah, (SONNA) — The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Abdisalam Abdi Ali, delivered a speech at the extraordinary meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) held in Jeddah, strongly condemning Israel’s blockade and atrocities against the Palestinian people, particularly in Gaza.
The Minister called for an immediate ceasefire, protection of civilians, unhindered humanitarian access to Gaza, and support for a two-state solution that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
He also welcomed international peace efforts and underscored the importance of safeguarding the territorial integrity of all OIC member states, including Somalia.
Minister Abdisalam reaffirmed Somalia’s firm commitment to defending the rights of the Palestinian people, upholding international law, and supporting all efforts aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace.
