Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Minister of Defense of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Jibriil Abdirasheed Haji, received the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Alper Aktaş, at the Ministry’s headquarters, where they held discussions on enhancing bilateral relations and accelerating cooperation, particularly in the areas of defense and security.
Ambassador Aktaş congratulated Minister Jibriil on his recent appointment and reaffirmed Türkiye’s unwavering commitment to supporting Somalia. He highlighted continued cooperation in rebuilding the Somali National Army and providing technical support in the fight against terrorism.
Minister Jibriil expressed his gratitude to the Government of Türkiye for its consistent and longstanding support to Somalia, especially in strengthening the national defense forces and contributing to broader social development services.
The meeting underscored the deepening ties between the two brotherly nations and their shared commitment to regional peace and stability.
