Brussels SONNA – The State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, H.E. Ali Mohamed Omar, participated in the 3rd European Union–African Union (EU-AU) Ministerial Meeting held in Brussels, where he held a series of bilateral discussions with senior officials from participating delegations and institutions.
On the sidelines of the meeting, the State Minister met with Mr. Steven Collet, Vice Minister for International Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The two sides discussed strengthening bilateral relations and expanding development cooperation.
He also held talks with Ms. Maria Tripodi, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of Italy, where the two sides underscored the excellent and historic relations between the two countries. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in security, promoting investment opportunities, and highlighting Italy’s continued contribution to stability and development.
In a separate meeting with Mr. Charles Fries, Deputy Secretary General for Peace, Security and Defense of the European External Action Service (EEAS), the State Minister reaffirmed the country’s commitment to combating terrorism and promoting peace and security, as both sides discussed continued European support through enhanced cooperation.
