Yangzhou, SONNA — A delegation from the Somali National University, which participated in the East African Affairs Conference hosted by Yangzhou University, has held an official meeting with the Rector of the university, Professor Liu Qiaoquan.
During the meeting, the Somali delegation briefed the Rector on the key conferences and scientific discussions they attended, outlining in detail the major themes and outcomes of the sessions.
Professor Liu Qiaoquan welcomed the engagement and proposed enhanced academic cooperation, including support for the development of a Center for Somali Studies aimed at strengthening research capacity and promoting deeper understanding of Somali affairs.
As part of the visit, a ceremony was also held to mark the launch of an exhibition commemorating the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Somalia and China. The exhibition highlights the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
The engagement underscores Somalia’s growing academic partnerships with international institutions and efforts to expand research collaboration and knowledge exchange.
