Mogadishu, (SONNA) – The Somali National Army (SNA) has intensified its operations to eliminate Al-Shabaab militants in key areas of the Bay region. Recent efforts focused on clearing operations in villages surrounding Berdale district.
During the planned missions, the SNA successfully reclaimed several villages where the militants had previously been extorting and terrorizing local residents. These operations are part of a broader national campaign to secure rural areas and dismantle Al-Shabaab’s infrastructure, ensuring peace and stability for the region’s inhabitants.
In a separate operation, the 95th Battalion of the 9th Division under the 60th Infantry Sector launched a coordinated offensive in the Garasmaamow, Garas Shimbirow, and surrounding areas. Led by Lieutenant Colonel Isaaq Mohamed Ibrahim, the unit dismantled key Al-Shabaab bases used to orchestrate attacks and oppress civilians.
These successful missions demonstrate the Somali National Army’s growing capabilities and commitment to liberating communities from extremist control, paving the way for long-term peace and development.
