Geneva, Switzerland, SONNA – The Minister of Communications and Technology of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Adan Ma’alin, is currently participating in the ministerial-level meeting of the World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) in Geneva, Switzerland. This significant international forum brings together global leaders to discuss and shape the future of information and communication technologies.
During his address at the summit, Minister Mohamed specifically highlighted Somalia’s advancements in the digital sphere. He emphasized the approval of the National Digital Balance Policy and the implementation of the Digital Government Policy, which aims to provide secure digital government services to every citizen in the Somali language.
The Minister reiterated Somalia’s full commitment to becoming an integral part of the global digital society. He extended particular gratitude to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and all participating nations for their support. Furthermore, he affirmed Somalia’s readiness to adapt and align with the ongoing global digital transformation, signaling the nation’s dedication to technological progress and international cooperation in the digital domain.
